Research with no Money
Great Ideas, No budget....
It's becoming a tiresome mantra, but there we are. We haven't seen our customers straining pump oil through cheesecloth - except for Fomblin - but there's no doubt that making do is a vital job skill. So in the spirit of earlier hard times we offer some ideas that won't replace good funding, but can still stretch the research budget.
Concept #1: Recycle. Very often the difference between what you have and what you want can be solved with a creative rebuild. A new fixture, some new ports, a deposition source can make a new and inexpensive research tool out of an antique. Tell us what you want to do, what you have on hand, and we'll do the rest.
Concept #2: Cheap and Cheerful. Vacuum hardware is often too expensive for what it is. A medium size turbo pump costs more than a medium size car, and we don't need to mention the less common stuff. The truth is, high-end industrial equipment pulls prices up and inhibits development of reasonably priced components. We help you find what works.
Concept #3: It if doesn't exist, it's ok to invent it. We'll help. Call us.
